Reiki - Healing Touch

Reiki (pronounced ray ke) is a form of natural healing based on an ancient system that dates back to before Egyptian times. It was revived in modern times during the 19th century in Japan and given the name "Reiki", which in Japanese, means universal life energy.

Reiki is one of my favorite therapies because it involves an interchange between the receiver and sender. I always receive something back from each session.

Reiki is very simple and very powerful. Practitioners, like myself, funnel healing energy through their hands to specific places on the human body that restore and enhance the body's energy system so that the body can heal itself. Unlike massage, it is not necessary to undress during a session. Like massage, one session will be very relaxing and harmonizing, but the best results come from repeated sessions.

A full session of reiki can:

balance the energy system of the body
energize the endocrine glands (which are necessary for the proper functioning of the body as well as the body's ability to handle and adapt to stress)
balance the internal organs of the body.
leave a person feeling relaxed, euphoric, balanced, or relatively stress-free.
help alleviate pain, physical traumas, post-surgical wounds, and acute and
chronic diseases
also help free a person from negative mental patterns and emotions.

Reiki is particularly comforting to those who experience chronic pain or are recovering from a major illness or surgery (many hospitals use it for this purpose). It is very gentle and non-invasive.

I am trained as a Master in the Usui Shiki Ryoho and Ichi Sekai Reiki System of Natural Healing from Japan. A typical reiki session lasts 60 minutes and is given by advance appointment at Eatonville's Wellness Center.
